After hoping, praying and waiting… we are FINALLY… going to meet our kids! I came home after yoga and opened my email to find the subject line ‘Court Date!!!’ from one of our caseworkers.
Ken and I couldn’t be more excited and overjoyed. It’s hard to hold back the tears.
I can't believe we are going to be parents to the three most amazing little human beings.
So watch out Addis Ababa… The Pouliots are arriving on July 14th.
Now it's time to pop open the bubbly! TGIF!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteSo exciting!! Now things will really kick into high gear. Can't wait to hear all about it!
ReplyDeleteHi, I am the blogger of ethiopiantripletland and sorry for not responding sooner to the comment you left. I just now realized you keep a blog...not sure why I missed that before. You are amazingly lucky to get referred triplets. Nobody really gets it if they haven't been there, so ignore most of the comments you have gotten and will continue to get. It's mostly amazing and I can't begin to imagine all the great nuances and differences between triplet families. I guess the only advice I can give is do everything you can to minimize sib fights (3 is an odd number!) and your work load and maximize sleep and happiness, even if they seem like bad ideas at the time (bribes, day old formula, co-sleeping, throwing schedules in the trash, changing the "rountine" every 2 days, going with the flow, pacifiers, treating children differently) - whatever way you can come up with! And serioulsy, three one year olds is a whole different game on a loooong plane ride compared to the lot we brougt home (5 month olds); but remember, it's not even one whole day of your lives; you CAN do it (and WILL do it); it will feel like you are suddenly weighed down with 6 cannonballs so move slow, chill, and don't be in a hurry. :)
ReplyDeleteYou know you are now I believe the 6th family to adopt triplets from Ethiopia. Seems like a lot but still a rarity. :) And I don't think a day goes by that I don't feel a surge of incredible love and luck. My family is a rock star! (I wouldn't want it any other way!)

Good luck on the truly agonizing wait to have your children home. (And I second the choo choo wagon assuming you have ample yard space for it.)
